Sexual Harassment

Stacey worked at a courier company for several years. It was a male dominated work environment. During her employment she was subjected to sexual harassment from co-workers. The harassment was in the form of sexual innuendo and direct language and comments regarding Stacey. Much of it was graphic and insulting. This co-worker also displayed pornographic material in his work station. She asked her Team Leader about this and he told the co-worker that the comments were inappropriate, but not with any conviction. She told her labour hire agency about this and requested a transfer. Management was notified. When she attempted to talk to the delivery centre manager, he said she had to expect this type of behaviour in the centre. When she was transferred to another mail centre, similar behaviour continued by a different co-worker.
